| so my summer vacation begins! just got to boston this afternoon, after a hard and fun 6 weeks of working with CTY in loudonville, ny! i've been missing my kids from the first session, and starting to miss seeing my kids from the second session, not to mention missing the staff members that i got to know and grow closer to! so anyways... second session went a lot better in terms of my organization for the class, i had a better idea of what to do, and i enjoyed it just as much.
plus second session included 4 classes competing in a round-robin type frisbee tournament during our break times! we didn't win the tourney, haha, but we played some really great games with other classes.... also had a SET tourney with the Math Logic/Reasoning Class... which my team did win! :D...
and besides the frisbee and SET playing, was also really blessed to find some fellowship with a few of the staff members. also, bringing the kids to church on Sunday was cool, being able to talk to some of them about the message that morning and things like that is pretty awesome.
time for me to figure out what i'm doing this fall though, in terms of classes to take, i'm not sure... and classes start in about 2 weeks?! so i better figure that out quickly!
a couple of other things i did at CTY this summer besides set and frisbee:
- played a game of soccer, a kid's shoulder hit my chin/jaw...
- ran (well not full speed) into a tree ---- yes... it was because of frisbee
- went to RPI's observatory on a nice night to look at the stars and Jupiter with the astronomy class.
i think those are the highlights...

| so after one very looonnnnggg week, i'm a third of the way through the first session. its been tiring but fun! i've got 12 students, they're full of energy and they love frisbee and SET haha which we play on breaks. the ONLY bad thing about this campus... apparently i'm in the ONLY townhouse that FREEEEZES during the night... literally freezing so i couldn't sleep and so i blocked the AC vents, opened windows, and turned on my laptop to get warmth over the night to get some rest... and i was supposed to be able to sleep in today!!! oh well.... ultimate frisbee game tomorrow, staff against the kids haha... what fun |

| well, the interview went well, haha i wasn't as nervous as i remember i was a couple years back when i had the phone interview.... ended up talking with my interviewer for over an hour and a half! (was estimated to be only about a 50 minute interview)
so i may end up teaching Cryptology to 7-10th graders (in Loudonville, NY - Siena College) for the first session if the dates work out since i'm tied up at UF till the 22nd and the first session starts the 21st... but still i'm excited!
second session they have an opening for teaching Inductive Reasoning to 5-6th graders, also sounds like fun! but this is alll the way out in Stanford University...
plane tickets are such a hassle... searching and searching for low prices... there's a pretty good deal with southwest airlines, BUT i still don't know for certain that i have the first session job, so can't buy the ticket you know?
anyways... i'll be happy with whatever happens
oh and just an update about my exams i posted about, i am now 'qualified' . so thanks for all the prayers.. altho at times i was extremely stressed haha thanks for putting up with me studying all the time! i will soon update more than just about jobs and school....
